Gas Safe Register is the official gas registration body for the United Kingdom, Isle of Man and Guernsey appointed by the relevant Health and Safety Authority for each area. Gas Safe Register replaced CORGI as the gas registration body in Great Britain and Isle of Man on 1 April 2009 and Northern Ireland and Guernsey on 1 April 2010. The HSE carried out a review of gas safety in 2006 which, after consultation with the gas industry, engineers and the public, led to the decision to change to a new gas registration scheme. The sole focus of the register is on improving and maintaining gas safety to the highest standards.
OFTEC operates a Registration scheme, which enables identification of those Technicians who have proved that they have the skill to ensure safe and efficient installation and operation of their plant and delivery of their fuel to the highest standards. Registration is awarded in two parts, Individual and Business. Only current Technicians and current Companies covered by both Individual and Business Registration can use the OFTEC Approved Logo on their publicity materials and vehicles, and describe themselves as OFTEC Registered.
